Buerger’s disease

also known as Thrombangitis obliterans

Common medium vessel occlusive vasculitis of peripheral limbs seen exclusively in male smokers, and a common cause for limb amputation.

Common in indian subcontinent.

Associations with certain HLA types and with antiendothelial antibodies have been found.
Tibial most commonly affected artery

Microscopic : shows acute or chronic inflammatory infiltrates according to the duration of disease, thrombus occluding the lumen, recanalisation of thrombus at places, microabscesses and granuloma formation, and fibrosis.
